The first Octoberfest(beer festival) took place in the year 1810 on the occasion of the wedding of the later king Ludwig I. with princess Therese of Saxon-Hildburghausen. A horserace was originally held for that wedding, too.Since that time the festival has became bigger and bigger, now it is known all over the world and the largest of all.
