The Richard-Straussbrunnen (fountain) was established by the city Munich for its composer. They selected however not a statue, but rather the subject of the Salome, Richard Strauss' best known opera. The bronze column shows representations out of the opera together with some lyrics. In the upper part, also pictures of Strauss and his family are found.
